美国加州帕西菲卡市（Pacifica）周六（2日）举办年度「世界狗狗冲浪锦标赛」，吸引许多饲主携爱犬参加，数十隻不同品种的犬隻在众人的欢呼声中乘风破浪，气氛十分热闹。
赛事于三藩市南部的帕西菲卡海滩举行，今年踏入第10届。比赛按参赛犬隻按体型分为小、中、大型组别，亦设有人狗共乘或多犬共乘的联合组别。赛事同时结合宠物领养及为动物慈善机构筹款，吸引数以百计民众到场观战。
比赛当日，狗狗们穿上色彩缤纷的救生衣，在主人协助下踏上冲浪板，乘着波浪而行。部分狗狗甚至能独自站稳冲浪板，在冲浪板上大展身手。
据《纽约邮报》报道，比赛主要根据狗狗在冲浪板上的逗留时间、乘浪大小及其自信心来评分。

有参赛狗主表示，其饲养的迷你杜宾犬早在4个月大时已对冲浪板爱不释手，首次参赛便夺得季军。该名狗主更透露，爱犬曾患上癌症，而她自己亦是癌症康复者，如今双双抗癌成功，继续享受冲浪乐趣。
